Easy Quilting 101

Quilting is so easy and simple that with some basic straight stitching, requiring no special knowledge, you create a functional piece of art you can be proud of.   All you need is some scraps of material, a needle and some thread, and an idea – though beginners usually start off with a pattern.

Use A Quilt Pattern – Or Design Your Own

If you start on the traditional quilt patterns you will find it very easy to produce great results.  You’ll soon learn that the skill levels required are not high, but the results are superb.  It’s a great skill to have and an easy one to learn. The stitching can be basic.

Sure, there are more difficult techniques to be learned, and some pretty fancy stitching is involved in the more difficult quilt designs, but that will come will practice and experience, just as any craft takes time to get to the highest levels. Right now, all you need to know is how to do some simple straight stitching.
